If You’re Not in the 5–9 Links AI Pulls During Live Search, You Are Dead

When AI answers a buyer question with live retrieval, it typically pulls 5–9 links to construct its recommendation. If your brand isn’t represented in that small set of sources, you are out of the answer.

Memory will not save you. A brand the model vaguely “knows” loses to a brand present in the sources it retrieves right now.

The live engine: the retrieved set is the only battleground that matters. Models add an average of only 0.02 brands from their own memory.
