Cost Per Link & Digital PR Campaign Efficiency Calculator

Turn campaign spend, pitch volume and placements into cost per pitch, cost per placement, cost per link and your syndication multiplier — with a shareable result you can drop into a deck.

What this measures: campaign cost-efficiency — what each pitch, placement and earned link cost you. It is not a financial-ROI model: it assigns no monetary value to links, coverage or downstream revenue.

Benchmark verdict NOT YET ACTIVE

Benchmark data not yet supplied. When Fractl’s campaign-history benchmark distributions are loaded (see methodology below), this panel will place your cost per pitch, cost per placement and cost per link against comparable data study campaigns run by agency teams, with a percentile band and plain-language verdict.

Heads-up: the share link encodes the inputs above in the URL — anyone you send it to can see them.

Methodology, definitions & benchmark status

Formulas. Spend = budget, or hours × blended rate. Cost per pitch = spend ÷ pitches sent. Cost per placement = spend ÷ placements secured. Cost per link = spend ÷ total links earned. Pitch-to-placement conversion = placements ÷ pitches. Syndication multiplier = total links ÷ placements (a links-per-placement ratio; the surplus over 1.0 is typically driven by syndication networks and follow-on coverage, though individual links may also be independently earned).

Scope. This tool measures cost-efficiency of an earned-media campaign. It does not estimate financial ROI, revenue impact, or a dollar “value” of a link — those require assumptions this calculator deliberately doesn’t make.

Benchmark status. Benchmark data not yet supplied. The percentile engine is built in and activates when an empirical benchmark file (median/quartile distributions of cost per pitch, cost per placement and cost per link by campaign type and team type, from real campaign history) is loaded into this page’s embedded BENCHMARKS data block. If a cohort supplies quartiles only, verdicts are reported as quartile bands, not exact percentiles; cohorts below the minimum sample size are excluded rather than shown.

Privacy. No analytics, no network requests, no storage. Inputs live only in your browser and — if you copy a share link — in that link’s URL.
